Tour de France Feeling - Hail to Contador!

Road cycling is my absolute favorite sport. Yesterday the biggest and most prestigious race, Tour de France finished, won by the Spanish rider Alberto Contador (for the 3rd time). Reasons to choose this image as a celebration:
- on this race the overall 1st wears yellow jersey ("maillot jaune")
- colors of Contador's team, Astana Cycling Team are yellow and blue. Just like the dominant colors on my pic. I, as a simple spectator, should like to congratulate to Alberto with my own tools.

The plant on the photo is Lathyrus pratensis, which I already shared here. Please read the note of that image for more info.

Photo was taken near Aggtelek village, and the rock wall in the background hides the artificial entrance of the world-famous (more than 25 kilometers long) Baradla cave. Manual exposure. Moderate cropping, slight level adjustment, USM, noise reduction, framing, signing, re-sizing (CS2).

Thanx for stopping by and commenting. Interested people may see another "Hail to Contador!" image here in my TrekLens gallery.

Note update: I thought I photographed Lathyrus pratensis here, but two of You said I was wrong and the species on the pic is Lotus corniculatus. After checking out both plants I again I have to agree. Thanks József (joska) and Markus (Heaven) for the correct ID specification.

merhaba Laszlo
nice to read your notes together with a great shot. Flower of Lathyrus pratensis looks very beautiful against blue sky. sharp details, exposure, POV/DOF and composition great. coloration superb. thanks for sharing. best wishes and have a good night

Hi Laszlo,
Nice POV and great exposure make this ordinary pea-like flower look quite spectacular.
I love cycling too, but just for fun, and I prefer mountain bikes to racing bikes, but I haven't got one right now. I bought a nice Bauer about 4 years ago, but all the metal on it rusted within 2 years sitting in my garage near the beach, open on the seaward side. The salt air here in the coast is a killer!

Cheers & TFS
Steve

Szia Laci,
Rendkívül szép fotó erről a szarvaskerepről, csodálatos részletek vannak a sárga virágban, csak egy baja van, hogy nem gomba!

So cyscling is your absolute favourite sport... this is a sport for fighers... a lot of effort is necesary!
As a "spaniard" :) I must thank you for your congratulations. The fact is that we a lately living what they call "the golden age of spanish sports... the football europen and world cup, the basketball world cup, the guys in motorbikes, Rafa Nadal in tennis, etc... we are better not get used to it :)))
Beautiful 3D effect achived here, perfect BG with the mixture of rocks and deep blue sky. DOF is very well managed, the subject is sharp and clear. Sun gives a great natural lighting.
Thanks and regards, Felipe.

greeting lou

Dear Laszlo

The Lotus od Bird's food trefoil (I hope I am right)is a superb flower that even grows in the wild part of my garden. I like this close-up very much because the colours are superb and it shows the flower's characteristics at best. In the opposite, I don't really appreciate the link to a sports event that adds to the deterioration of our nature...

Kind regards

Markus

Hi Laszlo,
First of all thank you for the ID of mushroom. A very nice capture of this beautiful yellow flower. You have captured with a nice pleasant background. Sharpness is very good and also a very beautiful. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hellow Laszlo,
A great ride it sure was from Contador. An interesting low angle and the clarity and strong vivid contrast really bringing out the beautiful flower. While watching the TOUR I saw so many exceptionally beautiful scenes and a photographers paradise.Nice image and TFS.

Hi Laszlo.
Thanks for your kind words to my shots. I am very pleased. Despite I have not any free time your encourage helps me to come back here, share own shots and see amazing works of my friends.

I have missed many your wonderful pictures. I like idea of the image, superb reproduction of beauties of the flower and impressive nicely recognized BG. POV. Composition. Lights, colours, details and blurriness of the image are exceptional. TFS and best wishes.
Alexei.

Hi Laszlo,

The blurry background is putting in evidence de flower. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the lotus corniculatus flower. There is a good contrast between the colors of the sky and the colors of the flower. Have a nice day.

Pierre

Bonjour Laszlo,
Que doit-on admirer le plus ? la finesse des détails ? la formidable opposition des couleurs ? ou plus simplement une excellente composition ?
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
Gérard
