Hi Trekkers,

This is a very old photo of me, was done in 2007, but I wanted to see it on TrekNature. It's showing the giant annual polypore Sarcodontia spumea (Sowerby) Spirin (= Spongipellis spumeus (Sowerby) Pat.; firstly on TN), which used to parasitize living deciduous trees, most of all maple (Acer), walnut (Juglans), apple (Malus), ash (Fraxinus) and such softwood [on the photo Norway maple (Acer platanoides)]. Occasional in Hungary.

Photo: done in the Bükk National Park, closed to Szentlélek ranch. Manual exposure mode, manual white balance (camera infos read by the program Exif Pilot Pro). PP: slight level and color adjustment, moderate cropping, after re-sizing a bit of sharpening selectively.

I hope you like my oldie.

Hello MF Laszlo
wow...this one is really big. The white details is so pleasant and the shiny surface is well shown.

Hello László.
This is a fine polypore specimen and rather different than what I am used to around my place. Good one from the archive and well written note too.
Thanks and kind regards.
