[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note

Finally, spring arrived to Central Europe and the first flowers started to pop up here and there. This one on the pic, Galanthus nivalis, the Common snowdrop is usually the herald of spring we're all waiting for (although I love snowy winter, too). Common and well known plant, shared many times on TrekNature, once by me also (click here if interested).

Photo: taken 5 years ago, a few kilometers from Lillafüred, in the Bükk National Park. Manual exposure mode, manual white balance settings (parameters read by Exif Pilot Pro). PP (Ulead Photoimpact): moderate cropping, slight level adjustment, after re-sizing noise reduction with Neat Image and some selective sharpening. Frankly, I found the file today while browsing my albums from 2008 on the PC, among many average or worse images.

Although the shot's 5 years old, I hope you'll like it.

Hello Laszlo,
A very beautiful macro of this Common Snowdrop. Great sharpness, choice of composition and DOF. Beautiful light and colours. It's now Spring, but in the next days it's gonna be Winter again here.

Hello Laszlo,
what an impressive capture.
great tonal range with superb exposure. nice BG too.
best wishes,

Hello Laszlo,
fine capture of this herald of spring with good sharpness and a natural background. I'm also glad that it got warmer, but it seems to get colder again next week. :-(
Best wishes,

Czesc Wladek,
very nice photo of spring. Amazing colours. Perfect white balance.
Great composition.
Thanks for sharing,

I still like the shot even though it is five years' old, Laszlo. The partially silenced background makes the snowdrop pops out of my LCD screen.
All the best for spring.

Hello Laszlo,
The true colors of the spring - white , green and blue sky ! Very beautiful composition! TFS Tina
P.S. Glad we are neighbor too :-) in fact I live in Arad - Romania not really far from Miskolc !

Ciao Laszlo, spring for you, not for raining Italy, lovely composition with beautiful flower, excellent clarity, splendid light and wonderful natural colors, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Hello László

With the snow we had this year, spring will come
a little bit later in our region, but it is starting
to be very good temperatures with less snow
felling down from the sky.

Excellent photo of this flower to celebrate spring,
with fine POV at its level and love that you did
not more close shot and prefer to show also
from the beautiful background even if it is
off focus it is pleasing to view with the flower
and its environment, TFS

P.S. thanks for your kind words on my photo of
« Northern Forests Silent Hunter » about the title.

Hi Laszlo.
I have absolutely the same species in the garden. It is amazing and you have presented it very attractively. It is clear details, exactness of flower colours are blameless but I am also impressed with beautifulness of the scenery. The lowest POV and reflection of the blue sky through the trees are amazing. Thanks a lot and best wishes.
