La Sterne arctique a une allure générale assez ramassée en raison de sa tête plus petite et arrondie.
Chez l'adulte nuptial, les filets de queue sont plus longs, et dépassent de peu le bout de l'aile quand elle est posée.
Son bec et ses pattes plus courts et d'un rouge plus foncé.

Hi laurent. A very good inflight shot. Very good timing on your part to get this one, I like the way the bird is looking dow. Good detail and natural colours. Stands out so well from the plain blue sky. well done TFS.

quelle superbe photo à l'envol du Sterne arctique,
je ne connais pas cet oiseau-là mais de sa pose on peut
deviner qu'il « scann » l'eau pour capturer du poisson,
un excellent POV et cadrage, superbe focus sur l'oiseau,
