Pararge aegeria. The Speckled Wood is a woodland butterfly quite common in this area. It has double broods in April/June and July September. Enjoys sunbathing on the rare occasions in Ireland when there is the opportunity. Favours clearings in the woodlands. Often found on Common Nettle (Urtica dioica).
