[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The largest of the 3 pieris species in Ireland where the resident population is supplemented by immigrants. Fairly widespread except in the North West and uplands. A frequent garden visitor or virtually any habitat. There are 2 generations per year which can overlap in late June/early July. It over-winters as a pupa. Thisone was taken in the grounds of Belfast Castle.
