...well, the western end of it at least. This is looking west from Dunmore Head, at the far western tip of the Dingle Penninsula.
This is as far as can you go in this direction in Europe, next stop is the eastern seaboard of the U.S, which makes the ocean here the Atlantic. The Islands looming among the murkiness are the Blasket islands, situated 2km off the coast and now uninhabited since the final residents left in the early 1950's.
I have always wanted to come here, and this place didn't disappoint in its appropriate bleak and wild feel. It takes a long drive to get here, but it's worth it. Gannets wheel and turn above your head from the nearby Skellig Islands, which i also visited, and the wind howls.
As you can see, the weather was pretty gloomy, but i like it like this...

Thanks For Looking.

Hello Paul,
Again a splendid photo of a very interesting part of Ireland. Light and colours are very beautiful. You were there on the right place to photograph this magnificent cloud in the dark sky. Fascinating composition.

Very dramatic and powerful image Paul! 5D Rocks!

Hello Paul,
A dramatic landscape as you are the specialist. The rocks on the foreground are amazing and I like also the clouds so alive. We can almost feel the wind... TFS. Cheers,

Hey mate

Nice to see a fresh one from you and even more if it's from your last trip to Ireland.
I think you made the most of conditions here and actually managed to create a very dramatic and atmospheric seascape.
The cliffs are, though, what strike me as fantastic - both thought their shape and through the natural blend of rock and grass (great contrast and lines here by the way) - and the way you used them to compose the shot is in fact brilliant.
A truly magnificent scenery, well presented here by you.

Bravo and TFS

Dear Paul!

Some may call it gloomy, I'd rather say it's the kind of atmosphere that makes my heart beat higher. This landscape is superb, and I particularly like the colour tones and the peaceful aspect. The low but raised point of iew creates a fine perspective and the different layers of clouds clearly add to the value of the picture.

Kind regards

Hi Paul,
great landscape and beautiful view through your fotograph. Dramatic atmosphere. I like very much.

Hey mate!
Haven't heard from you in sometime!I love this shot, but have a Q, wouldn't it have been better had the top (Both sides) been bright and clear? This is just an artistic query, Paul, and not questioning your composition, so please take no offense, since this is a lovely composition, even as is.

Keep posting more often, bro!

Ciao Paul, fantastic landscape, wonderful exposure, beautiful natural colors, fine superb sky, very well done my friend, ciao Silvio

Hi Paul,
A lovely capture of this beautiful landscape shot. Lovely colors and good composition. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hallo Paul
An absolute delightful view and most beautiful sea/landscape. A most peaceful outlook with lots of details of nature to appreciate. One can look until one cannot see anymore and even then it remains a beautiful sight. The detail on the rocks is truly gorgeous and the atmosphere in the image is so real. Best regards.

Hi Paul.
The End of Europe is looked as Paradise. At least at your photo. I am also impressed with your skill at landscape photography. This is my the weakest point in many respects. I like pictured scene, fantastic details of all of the captured place including impressive clouds, ultimate clarity of the shot, great POV. Superb job and kind regards.
