Back to my beloved fungi and exploring: during the weekend I visited an area new to me, the magic Glenshelane forest (in Irish: Gleann Siothláin = glen of the fairies), where I found and photographed lots of mushrooms. Here's one of them: Russula silvestris (Singer) Reumaux, a closed relative of The Sickener (R. emetica), which is the type species of the whole, notoriously difficult genera. Macroscopic (visual) difference between them is their habitat: while R. emetica's growing in damp coniferous forests in Northern Europe and in the Alpine / Carpathian region, R. silvestris is living in mycorrhizal association with various deciduous trees, and on lower altitude. Other differences are mainly microscopical. Presumably common species, but was confused in the past with Russula emetica and other similar species of the genus very often.
You can see some mature specimens in the workshop.
Photo: manual exposure and white balance, flash fired. No PP at all except for selective re-sharpening after re-sizing.
Thanks for looking.

Hi Laszlo, autumn is very close to come back,so the mushrooms time is ready to start. And we have a fresh and beautiful example of that, a perfect capture of this singer from above to show us the red colors of the top, well done as usual, like the old one in the WS. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano
Beautiful presentation of this Fungi. I like your chosen POV. Good details and colors. Like bit dark surrounding and bright subject. Perfect idea not to place the subject heart of the frame.
Thanks for sharing,
Regards and have a nice Sunday,
Thanks for your comments on my a few pictures. Unfortunately, I lost my all original pictures which were in my laptop due to cyber attack. I didn't pay them. So I was bit sad and disappointed, loosing my all pictures. By the way, I'm back ☺
