[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
After a while without posting I am very happy to be back with some new material :-)

Captured on the slopes of the mighty Vesuvius.
A very warm spring day brought the lizards to view - they were everywhere and it was fun trying to capture them.
I am not sure about the ID but I will post a workshop that shows the body as well so hopefully someone can help me with the ID.

Hi Shir,
Great to see you back!A cracking image with wonderful detail and lovely light. The DOF is just perfect emphasising its face amd making it seem to peer out of the image. It really seems to have an eye for you....I noticed the reflection!

Hello Shir,

The sharpness is very good, i'm impressed because he looks big but he mustn't be bigger than 25cm isn't ? Nice shot. TFS.

Hi Shir

Nice to see you back and posting :)
I'm also glad to see you with some new shots, especially so beautiful as these ones! Both of them are SUPERB!
I checked for the ID, but there are really many species of similar in Italy. However, i may take a chance and suggest this might be a Podarcis sicula - the Italian wall lizard. An upper POV shots to see the marking on the back would really be welcomed for a 100% ID.

Anyway, in means of photography, this is a superb portrait and the details and textures are really fantastic! How close were you able to get to it without scaring it?
The shallow DOF works great here and really concentrates all the attention and the eye-region of the lizard's face.
I must say that i raelly love th WS picture, too. Taken from a side POV it shows the habitat of the subject very nicely.
The side marking are also gorgeous and all the colors are brilliant!
All-in-all: an outstanding post! Hope to see many more like this!

Bravo and TFS

Saludos
