Ciao Silvio,
Did you take this photograph against the sun? The thistle and the wings are like chiseled out of marble - whereas the left wings (closer to the viewer)are transparent: beautiful effect!

The subtle colours of the background also enforce this impression.

The underside of the animal is slightly pinkish - and I wonder, whether it is attracted to the thistle for this reason!?!
The details are impressive: the insect looks, as if it was wearing an orange wig, matching the hue of the right wing.

Perfect photographic technique!
