Leucojum vernum (Spring snowflake) normally grows 15-20 cm tall (6-8 in), though it may reach up to 35 cm (14 in). It flowers one or two weeks later than the snowdrops, i.e., from mid-February to March, as soon as the snow melts in its wild habitat.
Two varieties are known: L. vernum var. vernum with green spots on its tepals, and L. vernum var. carpathicum, which originates from the eastern part of its natural range, a larger plant with yellowish spots on its tepals; 'vagneri' from Hungary is a robust variant of var. vernum, often with two flowers per stem.

Hi Sergio,
Great capture of this lovely snowflakes. our low POV is great and gave us a wonderful view of the inside of these flowers. You've got excellent details and clarity on the first flower. The light is well controlled without any dark shadows or overly bright white.

Hello Sergio, lovely detail portrayed in this attractive sign of spring.Very nice work.
Best wishes Les.

Ceao Sergio

Hello Sergio,
Very attractive flowers with beautiful white, green and orange colors. I have never heard or seen this particular flower before, but it is a real beauty. My wife works part time at a floral greenhouse and thought these were simply gorgeous.
I like the close crop and excellent detail you managed to capture. Nicely composed with wonderful exposure. Well done!!

Hello Sergio,
A very fine portrait of the flowers of the Snowflake, very rare in my country.
The POV is ideal to show the features of the flowers with excellent sharpness and natural colours.
Thanks and have a good week,
