Classe: Liliopsida
Ordine: Liliales
Famiglia: Liliaceae
Genere: Scilla
Specie: S. bifolia
Frutto: capsula
Specie distribuita nell'Europa centro-meridionale e nell'Asia occidentale.

Waiting new butterflies i hope you will like this first springtime's flowers.
Scilla (squill) is a genus of bulb-forming perennial herbs in the Hyacinthaceae. The 90-odd species are found in woodlands, subalpine meadows, and seashores across the Old World. Their flowers are usually blue, but white, pink, and purple types are known; most flower in early spring, but a few are autumn-flowering.
Several African species previously classified in Scilla have been removed to the genus Ledebouria. The best known of these is the common houseplant still sometimes known as Scilla violacea but now properly Ledebouria socialis.
Many species, notably S. siberica, are grown in gardens for their attractive early spring flowers.
Squill liquid extract, a preparation of powdered squill and ethanol, is used as an ingredient in cough medicines and cardiac surgery.

Hello Luciano.
Very rich blue flower. Nice shape to its petals. Good light, POV, clarity and sharpness. Excellent DoF.Best regards Siggi

Hi Luciano,

You use your flash exceptionally - there's a lot to learn from your photos! Fantastic contrast, great DoF, nice compo - and last but not least we see fresh spring flowers from Europe! Here in Hungary snow melted, conditions are momentarily very dry (no rain at all), no flowers yet, at least I didn't find any in the last weeks. Probably tomorrow, when I'll be in the mountains again.

Thanks for sharing this gorgeous image, excellent job, congrats amico. Ciao, László

Bonjour Silvio,

Hi Luciano.
First flowers are wonderful and you have reproduced them with fine details and exactness. Dry leafs and new green grass create a nice BG which is nicely smoothed and supplement vividly coloured flowers perfectly. My kind regards and best wishes.

Salut Luciano
