Class: Insecta
Order: Lepidoptera
Family: Geometridae
Genus: Isturgia
Species:I. arenacearia

Isturgia arenacearia is a moth of the Geometridae family. It is found in Sardinia, Corsica, Italy, Switzerland, Slovenia, Austria the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, Bulgaria, Albania, the Republic of Macedonia, Greece, Crete, Ukraine and Russia.
The wingspan is 21-27 mm.
The larvae feed on Coronilla varia.

ISTURGIA ARENACENARIA

(FONTE:Gianluca Doremi)

Ciao Luciano,
First of all congratulations for bringing a (probably) new species to TN today. It's a common species (at least in Hungary), however, I don't remember ever seeing it on this website. What can I tell about the technical side? Your trademark, the soft and very well managed flash is here again, resulting in great colors. Sharpness and shallow depth of field are excellent also, and the most important factor, composition, is simply second to none. Majestic job again, bravo! I hope once I'll be able to handle flash the way you do.
Best regards, László

Ciao Luciano,

Hello Luciano

The BG focus recedes so much and so very gradually giving fantastic dimension to the picture. It makes the rather plain brown moth step out and look extra special. Superbly done.

Bonsoir Luciano,

Hallo Luciano
I very much like the contrasting colours in this image, also the composition and the upside down angle in which you captured the moth. The patterns and texture on the moth's wings are gorgeous and are shown so beautifully. I also like the soft light that is part of the image. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
