Genus: Melitaea
Species: M. didyma

The Spotted Fritillary (Melitaea didyma) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. It is found primarily in Southern and Central Europe.
The wingspan is 35-50 mm. The butterfly flies from April to September depending on the location.
The larvae feed on various plants, including Linaria, Plantago lanceolata, Veronica, Centaurea jacea and Digitalis purpurea.

Descrizione

Hi Luciano,
"Flash didn't fire" (exif). Why? ☺ Seriously: very well photographed image with great visual impact. Nice composition, awesome color contrast and depth. An enchanting photo. The more I look at it the more I like it. Masterpiece! Bravo!
Kind regards from Ireland, László

Bonjour Luciano,

Pierre
