Genus: Melitaea
Species: M. didyma

The Spotted Fritillary (Melitaea didyma) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. It is found primarily in Southern and Central Europe.
The wingspan is 35-50 mm. The butterfly flies from April to September depending on the location.
The larvae feed on various plants, including Linaria, Plantago lanceolata, Veronica, Centaurea jacea and Digitalis purpurea.

Descrizione

What a catch, rarely seen it at this perspective. Well placed nice exposed and composed TSF.

Excellent front view Luciano.

Hello Luciano

Great macro with excellent focus, sharpness, details, and contrast of the color tones, TFS

Asbed

Hello Luciano,
This amazing and colorful specie I meet also near my home town Timisoara, western Romania. The details and colors are excellent.
I like more the POV with wings closed and the upper side of the wings because the drawing are interesting there.
Marius.

Pierre
