[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A very nice flower I noticed on my walk through the woods. I guess it's some kind of orchid, but I'm not so much an expert. A detail of the flower is in the WS. Any hint apreciated ;-)

Most probably Orchis mascula, although the macro does not show the labella very well.

Hi Mike

Certainly looks like the Early Purple Orchid. I the woodland around our garden there are litterally 100's of them (upwards of 500-600) and they are stunning. Think you needed a greater DOF than F/2.0 to do it justice though.... and if you return this weekend, it should be in full flower... nice ctach of light and also shows the woodland well as well...
