Lobed Argiope (Brimba kbira tal-widien)

Largest Maltese spider (male 25mm / female 7mm excluding legs). Legs often extend up to 40mm. Builds large orb web in particular between prickly pears (Opuntia ficus-indica) leaves. Found mostly in valleys and wooded areas.

Hola Martin:
Interesante compo. Me gusta esta araņa `por su forma y sus colores. Es muy rara tambičn la forma de su telaraņa. Una captura muy bien lograda, con una nitidez y profundidad adecuada.

Hello Martin,
This is a fine capture of a species of spider new to me. It is pretty sharp and well-composed and contrasts quite well against a difficult BG.
