[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Timarcha is a beetle genus of the Chrysomelidae family, with more than 100 described species in three subgenera. The most widely known species is T. tenebricosa, the bloody-nosed beetle. All species are black, wingless organisms. Timarcha are herbivorous species, living mostly on plants belonging to Rubiaceae and Plumbaginaceae, although a few can feed on Brassicaceae and Rosaceae.

Hallo Sochirca
This guy is really "On top of the world". This is beautiful. I like the side view in which you have captured this beetle. It is not often we see it this way. Now we can see the size from a different viewpoint. You have captured the details with great clarity, especially the segments of the antennas. The black, white and yellow contrast each other well and is a great combination of colours. Thanks for sharing.
Best regards

Hello Sochirca,
this is very beautiful shot of this beetle. I like composition, sharpness, colors.

TFS. Best regards, Leonid

Hi Sochirca

I'm glad to discover your gallery and it's a pleasure to^look at your pictures. I like the point of view chosen for this picture and it looks like the insect is served on a tray. The lighting is well managed, too.

Kind regards

A funny pose with a good composition. A lot of details, too, in spite of a difficult subject. Black on black is indeed tough, and you have managed it well.

But it is certainly NOT a Timarcha, I am not even sure it is a leaf beetle.

Hi Dan.
Simply perfect close-up. It is so difficult to shoot the black beetle especially on white flower. You have done it fantastically. Superb exposure of the image, great DOF and ultimate details of the insect and flower. Smooth BG is looked excellently as a canvas for the beautiful main subjects.

Hallo Sochirca
great macro shot, details, sharpness and naturally spring colors, congratulations!
