Boarmia consonaria

(Thanks Markus !!!)

Hello, today another example of camouflage :-)
This time it's a moth of Geometridae family on the tree trunk . I could photograph it only because I saw it flying and spotted where it landed. Otherwise - no chance :-)

Undoubtedly this species mimics the facture of the tree with lichens - and does it perfect. I don't think any bird could see it.

Very rare photograph. Congratulations!!

The butterfly is perfectly blending with the rock.

Hi Michal,
Superb capture. I am sure no one would see this guy on the tree unless he moved. An interesting post. Great job!

Wow ! What a superb and interesting Moth that you have well captured ! Incredible this perfect camouflage ! Congratulations Michal and thanks for sharing.

Hi Michal,
you made a wonderful serie of perfect hiding insects. This one is spectacular, such big wings and all in the same colour than the ground it's sitting on. Thank you very much, very good and interesting, bye

Great camouflage Michal. You have to look very hard to see it. Well found, thank you. Bravo!

Świetnie że to wypatrzyłeś Michal, bo zdjęcie jest doskonałe. Niesamowicie wtopiła się w tło. duże brawa.

wow superb capture :o)
you are very attentive
good work

Kolejne doskonale zdjecie "mimika". Jak dla mnie, to ten motylek nalezy do rodzaju Boarmia (przylepek), ze wskazaniem na Boarmia consonaria, ale to juz Krzysiek bedzie wiedzial lepiej ;-)

Nieco bardziej aktywny Markus

Very hard to spot Michal! Almost perfect camouflage, great looking patterns on wings. How did you found this guy?

It is amazing how some animals have developed camouflage and this is a great example. It's a really nice idea for a photograph - i like it a lot. Thanks!

chciałabym tak umieć wtopić sie tło. To by było coś absolutnie wyjątkowego :-)
Świetny pomysł i wykonanie.

Wow Michal

I think we have a winner here...
This picture is simply amazing !!!!

Witaj Michale,

Hi Michal,
Terrific capture! how you can find it? The mimicry is amazing, looks like the sci- fi movie Predator camouflage. A superb pic, ecxelent for a biology book.
