Another day with postcards from the Balkan Peninsula, and the first with Montenegrian landscapes :>

When in 2004 I visited Montenegro for the first time I was really surprised that so small country can contain so many types of landscapes. On the area of only about 14 000 sq. km you can see really great diversity of nature: one of the biggest Balkan lakes – the Skadar Lake, the only Adriatic fjord – Boka Kotorska, fantastic Canyon of Tara River (about 80 km long and about 13000 m at its deepest point), or great Durmitor Mts with the highest peak in Montenegro – Bobotov Kuk (2 522m). Great part of these areas are really wild, and almost virginal. Fortunately in the most fantastic places national parks were created :>

The trip to Montenegro was my 4th trip to the Balkans. After visiting Romania and Bulgaria we decided to see a country which would be so small that in three weeks “everything interesting” can be seen. But... we met with a repulse!!! Simply, it was not possible to do it!!! ;>

Our first serious base (there were also cataclysta, cedryk, and jazdzurka and 6 other friends but not from TN :>) was Zabljak, the most famous mountain city in Montenegro.
Here were found some rooms (about 3-4 Euros per person per day), and from here we started to explore fantastic Durmitor Mts.
We spent here 5 days but I think that we did not see even 5% of this amazing area...

And here on the photo you can see small part of this beautiful area – Jablan Jezero (=Jablan Lake) known sometimes also as Malo jezero (=Little Lake). This is rather small lake placed 1791 m asl with a surface about 17 500 sq m and maximum depth about 8.5 m. As great part of Durmitor Mts also this lake is localized in Durmitor National Park which together with the Tara National Park are placed on the UNESCO list.

Another view for this area can be found in Michal's gallery :>

I share your enthusiasm about Crna Gora entirely. Here you do justice to Durmitor with this very well framed shot (symmetry, asymmetry). And thanks a lot for the detailed description. Thanks for sharing,
Cheers, Dietrich

Hi Radomir.
I like, that all your postcards are executed in one style. This stile is perfect.
The cold a bit colour palette is very expressive. The clearness and transparency of the image is fantastic as well as your selection of the POV and composition of the picture. I also like the crisp sharpness and excellent details of the shot. The reflection of water colours is separate beautiful pearl of your artistic work. Bravo and my best wishes.

Hi Radomir,
A wonderful photo with a beautiful clear view. Details and clores look perfect and the exposure is well managed.

Hi Radomir,
What a pleasure to look at your pictures!
I'm beginning to get used to them, hope you got a lot of, and ready to continue doing this to show us all that beauty seen through your eyes.
I like so much this "green tone" picture, with the reflections on the water.
It's a great composition with all the elements, took on a beautiful day.
You got a very good DOF.
I like so much also the way you write in your notes, very useful information in an entertaining way.
Congratulations, thanks for share and my best regards,

Hi Radomir

Another splendid postcard from you!
I guess that if i already told Michal and Krzysztof, i can go ahead and tell you, too: i really admire you all (and also a bit envy you) for there fascinating trips you make!
It must be a lot of fun, but meanwhile there is a lot of work envolved...but it's the perfect mix :)
One of these took you to my country where you saw some great places, and another one took you to this wonderful place - Montenegro. I must say that before your (all of you) pictures i have a totally new and different view over this small country...a far better one :)
This landscape here is a perfect reason why - look at all that natural beauty!
Congratulations for this superb composition, with charming colors, details and light.

Bravo and TFS

Hello Radomir,
You and your friends must have had a really fantastic tour of this pat of the world - I love the various landscapes I've seen so far!
I love this landscape, the rocks and stones, the spruces and the water are all beautiful contrasts - and on top of that the blue sky - perfect! Very nice composition.
TFS and regards, Ulla

Hello Radomir,
Very attractive landscape... The water looks very still and serene. Exposure and sharpness are all fine. I would perhaps try to avoid having the light-colored boulders in the frame. But then again, I wasn't there, so I don't know. Well done.
Best wishes,

Czesc Radziu

Fajne zdjęcie - od razu chce sie myśleć o wakacjach i o wypoczynku... a tu tak smutno i ponuro i strasznie sie nic nie chce.

A wonderful mix of green, grey and blue. A nice corner of mountain beauty.
