From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The term wasp is typically defined as any insect of the order Hymenoptera and suborder Apocrita that is neither a bee nor an ant. Almost every pest insect species has at least one wasp species that preys upon it or parasitizes it, making wasps critically important in natural control of their numbers, or natural biocontrol. Parasitic wasps are increasingly used in agricultural pest control as they prey mostly on pest insects and have little impact on crops. Wasps can be eaten by many other types of insects, including those of the genus crematogaster.

Excellent closeup of this beautiful wasp. tfs.

Hello Jiri,
Very nice image. Fantastic clarity and outstanding details.
In my area also abounds this species. What is it eating?
I have observed feeding on the nectar of flowers. But as they have long tongue like bees, only go to flowers with nectaries located on the surface of the corolla.
Have a nice evening.
