Little experiment today. More art than nature, but I think still acceptable subject on TN.

I saw that my friends from Lodz posted today photos from distant places, so now it's my turn :-) This picture was taken last summer, during our holidays in Kotor, Montenegro. One day we were on small trip around Gulf of Kotor. We started in Kotor, then travelled via Perast and other small but beautifull villages and finally we reached Herceg Novi which is also called City of Flowers. Placed between Adriatic Sea and Gulf of Kotor, with rocky mountains on its back, full of monuments, fortresses and churches from different times this is one of most beautifull places I've ever saw. And as its name says - full of almost tropical flowers, trees, cacti... We were amazed by old wall with ivy, streets full of flowers growing everywhere, ancient red roofs invaded by different plants. We wanted to visit small botanic garden witch is placed on seashore but unfortunatelly it was closed. Why? Because. Next question please :-) Plate hung on gate stated that it is open, but gate was closed :-) Pity. Anyway, we were walking around Herceg Novi for all day enjoying views and people and it was really great day. When we headed back I spotted this leaf - it remainds me tabula rasa - clear sheet from notebook ready for new stories of life.

I love these palm leaves Greg, and you make this one look like a work of art. And the frame looks good with it too. Nice one!

Hi Greg

Yes...you are right...this is definately more art than nature - an abstract shot, but a very beautifl one!
The straight lines of this big leaf here look superb and create an interesting goemetrical composition.
Also, the rather unique frame adds to the looks of the abstract, while contrasting with the crude green of the plant.

Very interesting and refreshing, my friend.

Bravo and TFS

Czesc,
Zblizenia lisci zawsze sa super - o ile sa dobrze zrobione oczywiscie :-) Tutaj bardzo podoba mi sie faktura i tylne swiatlo tworzace ciekawy wzor.

Gracias y saludos... Ricardo

An interesting experiment Greg showing marked textures and intense colors with good aesthetic sense.
The focus, sharpness and lighting are appropriate to enhance the details of the leaf.
Personally I don't like the black bands to both sides of the image.
Thank you and regards... Ricardo

Witam Grzesiu!

Radek

Hi Grzegorz.
I like you detailed and nice note as well as the creative approach, which has been demonstrated by you. The shared picture is very pleasant for look. perfect executed (I like interchanges of lights and darks, leaf's elements, great reproduction of leaf texture, etc.) Cropping is very impressive too. My Compliments and TFS.
Alexei.

I love to see that someone around here is not only posting interesting compositions but also enjoying himself doing whatever you feel like, I think I should also do it from time to time ;)
Nice light-texture play, lovely frame, well done MF.
Best regards, Felipe.

I love this shot. I tend to muse on the abstract view of nature and now you have given me inspiration. It is so sharp, so detailed, the colours are strong and I love the perspective.

Hello Grzegorz,
aesthetically very pleasing intellectual approach.
With stricly minimalistic approach you created a true piece of art, very well presented in upright position with black frames. Great.
What is it? Looks like a banana?
A perfect starter for new stories to follow.
Looking forward to them.
Thank you! Best regards,
Peter

This really caught my eye. It is like art. Great colour, strong image and lovely sharp details. It's a study of lines and colour

Hi Greg,
All you need are some tiny windows, and it's a huge skyscraper!
The tall vertical frame gives it a solid feel..
Innovative mf, I like it...a clear slate :)
Very well done.

Hi Greg,
Simple, but very interesting and nice image. I lioke how you´ve focused leaf lines. Great job my friend
