Did she see me?

Yes, she did……. Run.

While Common Pheasants are able short-distance fliers, they prefer to run. If startled however, they can suddenly burst upwards at great speed, with a distinctive "whirring" wing sound and often giving kok kok kok calls to alert conspecifics. Their flight speed is only 43-61 kilometres per hour (27 to 38 mph) when cruising but when chased they can fly up to 90 kilometres per hour (60 mph).

Their flight speed is 43-61 kilometres per hour, but does anyone know how fast their land speed (running speed) is? I can not find this on the internet, but I guess that they would do perfectly well on the 100 m sprint on the Olympics.

Hi Paul. Good colours in the fast moving male Pheasant. which you have captured with good detail . we can see all the markings so well. TFS.

Hallo Paula,

Hi Paula.
What a nice colourful shot of the fine bird and impressive green grass. This shot supplements previous one excellently. I like wonderful horizontal orientation of the image, interesting back POV, great DOF and details, amazing lights and colours. My best regards and TFS.

Hello Paula,
I'm completely fascinated how sharp this image of a running pheasant is - I know that they are real fast runners. The colours - especially the brown tones of the feathers - are great and even so is the POV.
Well seen and captured.
Thanks for sharing,
