[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Much of the owl's hunting strategy depends on stealth and surprise. Owls have at least two adaptations that aid them in achieving stealth. First, the dull coloration of an owl's feathers can render them almost invisible under certain conditions. Secondly, the owl's remiges, or flight feathers, have fluffy trailing edges, muffling the owl's wingbeats and allowing its flight to be practically silent. Some fish-eating owls, which have no need of silence, lack this adaptation. Elf owls also lack the feathers for silent flying.(wiki)

PT :)

Hi Annick,
So a 'proper' bird picture. One in flight that is. Not quite spot on for focus but still good to look at especially with the wing movement. 1/800's should have stopped it dead.
Regards,
Peter

Magnifique prise de vue en plein vol, les oiseaux sont tellement difficile, il dégage aussi toute sa force, belles couleurs et composition.

Hi Annick.
Wow! Look at those eyes. It's the first thing you notice. Very powerful Great sharpness and still a great sense of motion. Very well done.
Regards, Steve.

Nice owl shot. Cool action. I guess the shutter speed is slightly to slow for the ultimate capture here.
