[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) is an endangered member of the cat family (Felidae), a poor climber that hunts by speed and stealth. As such, it is placed in its own genus, Acinonyx. It is the fastest of all land animals and although its fastest speed is unknown, it can reach speeds of more than 105 kilometres per hour (65 mph) in short bursts up to 460 metres (500 yards), as well as being able to accelerate from 0 to 110 kilometres per hour (70 mph) in three seconds, faster than most supercars. The word "cheetah" is derived from the Sanskrit word citrakāyaḥ चित्रकायः meaning "variegated body", via the Hindi cītā चीता.

Shooting conditions:
Shot in Safaripark Beekse Bergen through an open car window. One was laying 5 meters (could not photograph it through its position and obstacles) or so away and this one 15 to 20 meters...
So it is rather a big crop...
Car manufacturers should market cars with faster opening and closing window systems 'cause if these guys decide to accelerate you have no chance:-)

Hi Annick.
With a look like that I would be starting to wonder if its time to make a move out of there too. Excellent detail in its face and that stare.

Hoi Annick, weer een vast scherpe kiek van jou hand. Ben zelf een beetje in twijfel over fotografie in dierenparken maar voor nu nog een smiley. Well done Reina
