[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis) is an African even-toed ungulate mammal, the tallest of all land-living animal species. Males can be 4.8 to 5.5 metres (16 to 18 feet) tall and weigh up to 1,360 kilograms (3,000 pounds). The record-sized bull was 5.87 m (19.2 feet) tall and weighed approximately 2,000 kg (4,400 lbs.). Females are generally slightly shorter and weigh less than the males do.

The giraffe is related to deer and cattle, but is placed in a separate family, the Giraffidae, consisting only of the giraffe and its closest relative, the okapi. Its range extends from Chad to South Africa.

Taken in Safaripark Beekse bergen. Trough open window from car. IS on.
It had been raining ; the Giraffe was licking the rain drop on the car roof; it sounded like abrasive and I was really ů^:$ů^µ; looked at the car in the safety zone and I was happy to view it could only have had a polishing effect.
So Giraffes can be useful in car washes IMHO:-)
About photo; kind of like the tongue and the overall sharpness but there seem to be a certain dullness, for example in the eye area, which I couldn't really fix in post-processing...
The latter is probably partially due to the rainy weather...
And finally as mine has already started: HAVE A NICE WEEKEND!

Hi Annick
Cool portrait, you need more contrast and USM imho.

Hello Annick,
What a POV, you must have climbed up a tree! Looks like he's got hay fever and a runny nose:-)) No, really, it is a very fine, funny and well-timed shot, very sharp and in lovely colours.
Many thanks and regards, Ulla

Hi Annick,
A very cute photo. Your timing was wonderful. I am not sure that I like the totally white background. It almost makes it look like something off of a humerous greeting card.
I agree with your comment about the dullness resulting from the flat lighting. I took a shot at it in the workshop.
TFS, Joel

Bonjour,
Sympathique effet de style.
Bonne soirée.

Hi Annick,

Another good portrait from you. This is a female giraffe, which can be seen by the tuffts of hair covering the short horns completely. The bull have a little round dome sticking out above the hair, which makes the horns look like a bald man with hair on the sides. :-) TFS!

Hi annick.what a portrait. great timing.good colours and detail .looks great. well done TFs.
Nick..

Una buena toma del primer plano de la Jirafa. Las condiciones del fondo difíciles, es cierto que se nota un poco de veladura sobre el ojo y parece reclamar un poco más de contraste. Muy buena.

Hey Annick,
Whatever this image may lack on the technical side, it makes up for in nose-pickin' appeal ;}}

The moment you've captured here is very interesting! I like it.
Best wishes,
Achim
