The "true sparrows", the Old World sparrows in the family Passeridae, are small passerine birds. The differences between sparrow species can be subtle. In general, sparrows tend to be small plump brownish or greyish birds with short tails and stubby powerful beaks. They are primarily seed-eaters, though they also consume small insects. A few species scavenge for food around cities and, like gulls or pigeons, will happily eat virtually anything in small quantities

Dag Annick,
echt mooie close up van deze jonge huismus. Alle veertjes zijn mooi te zien. Achtergrond is wel was korrelig maar photoshop weet daar wel raad mee :-)
Groeten, Jacob

Hi Annick.
Awesome close up, pin sharp with excellent detail and a look that looks like he is waiting for more of whatever is around his beak. Great colour and DOF making him stand out.
Wonderful

The head tilt and the stuff on her face make me feel some tug in heart - adorable and childlike little birdie. Great sharpness and contrast and thus great detail!

waoooo une image d'une qualité exceptionnelle, les détails sont d'une qualité rare. J'aime son oeil noir et brillant et sa nourriture encore autour du bec.

Hi Annick. This ia a amazing close up shot of the Sparrow. the detail excellent. with sharp focus. good colours and a nice POV. very well done TFS. good notes to.
Nick..

Hi Annick,
I think this is more of a Tree Sparrow than a House Sparrow as it has a brown head.
Great feather definition. My option would be to crop left side and make 'letterbox' format as head looks too high in the picture.
Regards,
Peter

Well Annick - that must be the best shot of a sparrow I have yet seen. Fantastic light, detail and colors. Excellent Portrait!

So cute young sparrow, Annick!
I like it! Very good details and colors.
Maybe too noisy on BG.
Well done!
TFS and regards,
Serge
