Shot in Artis, Amsterdam. This little one was accompanied by two other chicks and mom. Due to a relatively shy chick and the protective mother it was
not easy to capture. Didn't found much data about these juveniles in Wiki....

Behaviour(wiki)
The peafowl are forest birds that nest on the ground. The Pavo peafowl are terrestrial feeders but roost in trees.

Both species of Peafowl are believed to be polygamous. However, it has been suggested that "females" entering a male Green Peafowl's territory are really his own juvenile or subadult young (K. B. Woods in litt. 2000) and that Green Peafowl are really monogamous in the wild. People who believe this notion, cite the similarities between the sexes.

This so cute &very nice..TFS!

Hello Annick,
Interesting and funny shot on this juvenile peacock. Without know it is a peacock,we can discover that this bird will grow and will become a big bird, because its legs are big versus its body. Well realized.

It is the first time I see a baby peacock and I must say it is so cute. You pictured it in a nice shy pose. Adorable!

Hi Annick,
Nice photo of this peafowl chick. The DOF almost reminds me of a macro shot. The chick is well displayed and the plumage is sharp.
Good photo,
