The Amur tiger (Panthera tigris altaica), also known as the Siberian, Manchurian or North China tiger, is confined completely to the Amur region in far eastern Siberia, where it is now protected. The last two censuses (1996 and 2005) found 450–500 Amur tigers within their single and more or less continuous range making it one of the largest undivided tiger populations in the world. Considered the largest subspecies, the largest Amur tiger on record weighed 384 kg (846 lb). The average weight of a male Amur tiger is around 227 kg (500 lb). The Amur tiger is also noted for its thick coat, distinguished by a paler golden hue and a smaller number of stripes. The Amur tiger is the largest and heaviest of all naturally-occurring felines. A six-month old Amur tiger can be as big as a fully grown leopard.

Hi Annick,
This is probably the best photograph of a relaxed Tiger I have seen. The colours and definition are stunning and coupled with the sharpness it just makes for an outstanding photo.
Pity it is not wild.
Regards,
Peter

Hello Annick,
Well, what can I say about this photo my Friend?

1. Very funny pose of tiger - I really like its relaxed pose :)

2. Great saturated colours and perfect DOF (I would even say - I am feeling like standing just next to this tiger)

3. Interesting note, even if it reminds that this species is critically endangered in the wild :(

4. Technical data - as always there is something interesting to find.
TFS and best greetings,
Radomir

Hi Annick,
Another beautiful capture of this playful tiger. Very nice details and composition with excellent POV. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hello Annick,

This picture is a demonstration of how sharp a picture can get! Sharpness is the thing that stroke me first when I looked at your picture. The details look excellent throughout the whole body of the tiger. I think i would have included a little more space above the tiger's head but I'm not sure if this would have yielded better results. Another thing that captured my attention were the colors. They look so natural. The fur simply looks real to me. I felt an impulse to touch it. It's amazing how well your camera reproduces the colors. Very well done! Thanks!

With Friendly Regards,
Eddie

Belle photo de ce tigre, la photo donne tellement impression de réalité que j' aurais envie d' aller jouer avec tellement il a l' air gentil, quoi que non, le regard m' a l' air très dure quand meme.grande netteté et belle attitude. Amitiés Thomas
