[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this photo last summer on a rainy day. I was fed up with sitting at home and was hoping to capture some lightning. First I had to locate the perfect storm on a weather internet site, next I had to find a spot where the storm would pass by that also had a landscape potential in mind. While driving around, I made a decision to stop at a familiar location and use the last light to my advantage. This and some of the previously posted tree photos were the result of that particular moment.

Did I catch lightning? Yes, although it wasn't spectacular, I did capture it and the photo in the WS is the result.

Fantastic capture with incredible color gamut superb detail in the shadows, mid tones and the highlights Niek. I think that the choice of f/18 with your wide-angle lens is a good one, perhaps a bit of softness can be observed in enlargement due to Diffraction process - or squashing the light into a tiny hole, which can result in resolution reduction.

Hello Niek,
This is a beautiful view taken on a dull day and well framed. I like the low POV and the colour of the sky with reflections in the water. Did you use flash to highlight the grasses in the foreground?
Nice drama in the Workshop too!
TFS and have a nice weekend, Ulla

Ciao Niek. Good POV and right use of the flash. Very good spaces management. Intrigant clouds reflections.

Hello Niek,
A very beautiful image. Very good DOF and excellent quality.

Mooie reflecties in het water hoor! Vind de achtergrond wel een beetje te donker, waar de lichte voorgrond dan weer wat te veel aandacht opeist..

Hoop dat je hier wat mee kan:)

Hallo Niek,
a very beautiful landscape, an ideal habitat for many dragonflies, one of my favourite subjets, i like very much the contrast of colours, beautiful perspective with a very good visual impact
Have a good Sunday

Hi Niek,

This is gorgeous! LOVE the foreground. That lens is so much fun. I think your lightning shot is really cool. That was an eventful, productive, and well planned evening.

What does A3+ mean in your reply to George?
