Hi Pieter, this is a lovely shot, you had the perfect time. It has such a peaceful and quiet spirit, I like that.
Perhaps it could be a little bit brighter, I tried a workshop for you, hope you like.
Tot ziens

Hello Pieter,
I like this shot a lot. The pose of the bunny is great. The low POV is good, Well composed and good sharp detail. It is difficult to get close to them as they're so quick. The low light was unfortunate. I like the way you've framed this. Great capture my friend.
Thanks for posting.

They are not easy... I tried today. :) You got it in a nice pose and in the environment.
The landscape works well here. The exposure might be a tad under but it's not a problem. You deserve points for trying this alone. :)

Pieter, the shot seems a little bit dark to me, but that's just my opinion.
Lovely pose. I tried shooting rabbits once. I didn't get not even a single good shot.
I like pose and composition.

Wow Pieter, what a lot of effort you went to in order to get this shot. I agree wild rabbits are notoriously difficult to shoot, you did a good job on the capture. To be honest, I'm not crazy about the thick black borders on top and bottom. Composition is good otherwise with nice color.
TFS!

Nice shot, Pieter.
IMO it's little to dark. Well composed and good details.
But the frame, I can not say I like it. We have only 800 p and
I think we shall use it for the picture instead, but thats me.
Well done. my friend.

Great shot Pieter!
I can imagine how difficult it is to get close to these fellows, so I think you have really good shot here.
It's true that the photo is quite busy, but the main subject is shown well and it's very clear. I would even say that I like the fact all these bushes are there cause it makes very natural look of the whole.
Overall, I like it very much and I think the :) is well deserved here.
VERY WELL DONE!

Very difficult to shot subject. I love this scene and pose in connection with your title ;-) Picture is slightly too dark for me and left side slightly chaotic on BG but 2pts for your efforts - I know how hard is to capture wild rabbits :-)

Hi Pieter, Gotta go..Nice setting and upright pose here..
Howard
It's a nice starter, Pitere, I'm sure there are better to come, though! Lovely pose, and the surroundings help to show how timid they are, they usually don't stray too far from the undergrowth. It looks quite dark, but that's not a fault, I can see that it would be getting fark at that time of the evening. I think you should have zoomed in fully, though, to make the rabbit a bit bigger, while still keeping the surroundings.
p.s. Like the frame!

Hi Pieter,
I can imagine how difficult it is to get close to these rabbits, you did a nice action shot i'm certain that you'll get a closer one soon :-)
Dof, pov & colours are great not sure about the frame !

Hi Pieter
Great capture. I love the typical rabbit pose. Good POV. A bit dark for my liking and I don't like the black borders much. Look forward to some closer shots. Thanks.

What a cutie, Pieter. You have captured that famous alert, curious pose! or is it mid hop? In any case, I can imagine how hard it is to catch one of these guys. At first I wasn't sure about the amount of BG, seemed a bit overwhelming to the subject at first. But I liked the sense of environment more. Have to say, not don't really like the black bar framing. Too segmented IMHO. All in all, I really like this photo.

What time is it? Only Alice can go near of them!
It is not too dark and I really like the DoF here. The Pov is good. These wild rabbits are always in alert mode. It is in their nature. They have no choice if they want to live long.
Even me, If I see someone whith an EOS 350D spoting at me...
Have a great Sunday, Pieter.
HI Pieter, it is a while since I looked at your Intro page and it is good to see Sandra. "HI SANDRA, Piete's other half, nice to meet you."
We don't see too many rabbits up here, but I'm sure there's no shortage of them in the Sth Island. You can see how easily they get hidden in the greenery, as your bunny tones in well with the surrounds.
I have done you a workshop to lighten up the scene, also cropping it so bunny stands out more. I hope you like it.

Hi Pieter,
Always a difficult chore to start photographing something your not used to. I have been trying to shoot hummingbirds, but not getting the results I am proud enough to post. This was some difficult low light, and it sounds like distance and time were also a big problem. You still have a good shot here. I would have tried to crop into it alittle more, but thats just my personal choice.

Very nice image Pieter ! I like the fact that you don't use your flash on the nature , it's not stressful for the wildlife. TFS !

This is a real nature shot Pieter, I'm glad you were not tempted to raise levels on this as I like the dark look. Good composition also. Its not a perfect shot but I feel I want to give it a good score because It holds my attention. 7/10 VERY NICE WORK.

Hi Pieter,
Pieter Rabbit looks cute. They are very spooky so, my compliments on your effort.
The image is dark and the focus appears to have missed the rabbit, abit of work to get it clear, well done on the p.p. work.
It is a very nice composition showing it's habitat.

Hello Pieter, nice composition, I like the space. I do think it is a little dark overall. But i think the rabbit looks great peeking into the bushes. Well done.
