[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On my balcony some ladybug larvae hatched. Apparently they really liked the abundance of aphids on my balcony as they really had a feast-meal over there.
On the image you see what happens to an aphid as soon as they got "sqeezed" by the larvae.

In order to take this photo I used extension tubes on my 100mm macro lens and had a flash mounted to the side of the camera. The image is slightly cropped to get a higher magnification and I added some contrast in PS + used a sharpening filter.

big rush this morning, great shot
thanks for posting

Hello Mike, This a very interesting macro and an excellent POV of this "Killer" in action. Very good light, colors and details. Do you use tripod for any of your macro work? I use a lightweight tripod with remote shuttering & manual focus for the small insects like this. It really helps when you start getting down there into the lower S-speeds. Great shot, Thank you!

Almost like an alien from the space, Mike! The focus isn't so great but the POV and colours are superb! TFS! Michal
