[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I'm lately very much into close-up macro photography and would like to tell you all more about the species of fly that is shown in this photo. Unfortunately: I have no clue :-)

I can elaborate on the photo though.
This photo was taken early in the morning with the morning dew still clinging to the leaves and to the grass. I'm using my new 200mm macro lens and I love the extra working space it gives in comparison to my 100mm macro. Fill flash was used from the side from the AF400T flash mounted to the side. In post processing I used a tiny little bit of adjustment in contrast and saturation. Slight USM for web viewing. This photo #2 is part of my "water" series which can be seen in whole on my website.

I like This shot ..It has great colours that, I believe, could be brought out in a workshop..

Regardless your lack of information, this image is striking, artistic and superbly composed, it has well defined three plans and the "piece du resistence" the fly is fantasticaly captured, crouched and bully on that stream of pearly dew.

Nice macro Mike, I realy like it. Great composition and sharpness. But i'm not sure but i think the picture have over exposure point, the left part of the grass blade and on some part of the fly. But the picture steel a great one. Well done
