Tyria jacobaeae / Sint-jacobsvlinder / Cinnabar Moth / Blutbär Jakobskrautbär / Proporzyca marzymłódka

The Cinnabar moth (Tyria jacobaeae) is a brightly coloured arctiid moth, found in Europe and western and central Asia. It has been introduced into New Zealand, Australia and North America to control poisonous ragwort, which its larvae feed on. The moth is named after the red mineral cinnabar because of the red patches on its predominantly black wings. Cinnabar moths have a wingspan of 32-42 mm (1.3-1.7 in).

Hello Harm
A great capture of this lovely little moth. I like your POV with the wings draped around the insect, the composition are good, and the colours are splendid. While the BG shows a little noise it is easily fixed in PP, but it is well removed from the moth thus complimenting it very well.
Good work and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Hello Harm!
Very interesting moth. It looks like someone from 'gothic' movie with long, red/black coat. Good details and POV.

Hi Harm,
Incredible moth! Texture and colors are great. The vertical position and the open wings give the sensation of a coat! Very good job!

Hello Harm,
very well composed shot of the Cinnabar Moth, showing the wings of this pretty day active moth in a very appealing and perfect way! Slightly reducing brighness and a little increase in contrast might add to the impact - tried a little workshop to test. Thank you! Best regards,
Peter

great shot of the cinnabar moth - they have such wonderful colours don't they. I like the way you have caught the wings slightly open rather than closed tight, showing some of the body.
