[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Not very often do I take my tripod with me in wet and marshy areas. The day I took this picture I brought it and was very glad this platycnemis pennipes sat silently on his post. Although the species looks like the other common blue damsels it is easy to recognise by the wide 'legs'. In the netherlands it occurs in wet areas and along small streams and rivers.

Hi Jacob,
it was definite worth to carry the tripod, the details are great. Well composed, good POV and composition. Maybe a bit lack of contrast.
Very well done.

Hello Jacob,
beautiful insect and beautiful picture. Very clear and sharp details. Colours are superb and contrast well against the non-disturbing background. Well composed and nice point of view, also. Perfect!
Best wishes, Peter

Hello JAcob,
Really brilliant shot of pennipes, a favourite of mine just because it's easy to identify! Very sharp details and beautiful background. I like the composition too!

Hi Jacob.
We have them here too. This are very cute and friendly damselflies. If you spend some time with them, they get used to you and allow great shots, just like the one you offer to us. Everything is perfect, I would saturate colous just a bit more, but only a question of personal taste. I invite you to see the one have posted HERE which is one of my favoirites damselfly shots.
Best regards, Felipe.
