This last week we spend some time in the north west part of The Netherlands. There's a nice little town, however very touristic, called Egmond aan Zee. It's about 5km from Alkmaar which is renowned for it's cheese market. Alkmaar itself is like Amsterdam in small. A little further lies Bergen aan Zee, very small but for people who like to look at the rich, this is the place to be.
Amsterdam, Holland's capital, is situated 30km southeast.
You can take the bike and ride from one quaint little beach town to another. Riding through the North Holland Dune-reserve (you have to pay a small entrance fee) is both relaxing and offers you amazing dune sceneries. |
