[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This one must be somewhere in Torbjorns (TBW) backyard (at least seen from low down netherlands). The lyngen alps are a great environment to do some trekking.

In christmas holiday I went through some old slides. I was very shocked to see that a lot of them had lost serious quality. I used to shoot slides with kodachrome 64. I always assumed that this high quality film would last 20 years or more. Anyway, I came across this slide and it was an old favorite of mine since I had good memories at the time I did a long trek trough northern Norway. I even made a print which is still reasonable. I've put in the workshop what was left of the slide It took a lot of polishing to make something out of it. This is the result.
I am not really enthousiast: neat image made it a little too smooth and especially the colours were a difficult point. I am curious to your ideas about it.

Hello Jacob,
You did a great job from the scanning, wich can be appreciated in the workshop.
I like a lot the result you got in PP: The atmosphere is absolutly wonderful, with that characteristic northern light.
Nothing else to add or remove.
Different planes works great in the deep of this composition, and the boat adds an extra info very interesting to look at.

Another outstanding shot.The reflections in the placid water are beautiful.The shot has several layers ,and the eye is lead upwards through a wonderful composition to the mountains and finally the sky above.Very well seen,TFS

I'll tell you what...if you hadn't had posted the workshop picture with the original scan of the slide, nobody would have noticed the extra smoothness caused by Neatimage ;))
Still, my friend, this is a wonderful picture...no wonder it's a long time favorite of yours.
To be perfectly honest, the neatimage effect is visible, but only in some regions: a bit on the mountains, where the edges are that sharp and clear as i'm sure they where when you took the shot and on the water surface right near the boat...but it's really nothing serios...it actually makes the mood more tranquill :) (you know...just like the silence before the strom - which was aparently aproaching...or leaving...doesn't matter ;) )
Returning to more serious matters, the composition here is stunning.
I really like the gradual ascendence in the frame and also the gradual colder colors (it seems that the higher you go in the frame, the colder and grimmer the colors are).
I'm also very impressed in the sharpness from the FG (especially the boat) which reamined very clear even after all these years and post processing.
All-in-all a very beautiful post!

This is the kind of shot one would like enlarged on the wall!! Fabulous landscape and lovely colours, so well planned! Really brilliant composition. I agree with you about the quality of some old films - they've not kept very well and if you don't have the very best scanner it is difficult. But as far as we can see here this is still excellent!

This is a masterpiece. Well shown of the imposing alps over a beautiful lake. The fog at the mountains base gives mystery and idea of height of this place. You did a marvelous job in processing gloomy scanned picture to this brilliant one.

Wow was the first thing that came to mind here. The detail and that boat are excellent as are you restoritive skills. The various layers are all excellent with great detail and well divided by the cloud...

Excellent photo Dear Jacob! I like a lot the passage from lake to the shore, to the clouds and the summits that the eye follows without ptoblem in your shot. Great depth and sharpness.
