[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This picture is taken from where I live. It is september and the autumn clouds are dominating the sky. What made this day different was the winds blowing past the many mountain ranges in this area, creating a wave pattern on the sky. The colours were also kind of dramatic I thought. At first I didn`t think the images were anything to save, as they didn`t feel so dramatic after I downloaded them to my comlputer, but after giving it a go with adjusting levels to get the contrast back and burning the dark areas slightly I got the "spooky autumn feeling" back. It was just a light metering mistake of mine (and my camera maybe...) that had lost the special thing about the whole thing. After adding a black background it got even more pronounced. It`s strange how small things can make a difference on how a picture looks good or plain.
After this I experimented on black & white conversions as well, and it was amazing how "cool" a cloudy sky could turn out after all :)

Wonderful sky. I enjoyed your discussion of your experimentation, but what I really like is the final product here. If you want, though, you could post alternate versions a workshops. Well done.

It is indeed a nice sky image, Torbjorn. I like the dark foreground and that special light on the far peak. They are fascinting clouds that lead the eye deep into the scene. Nice work

Not sure why this hasn't had more attention, but I love it, That sky is excellent.

I love the touch of light on the tops of the mountains as well. Great POV and composition.

Hi Torbjorn,
Emma mentioned me I had to see this. How strange that I missed it myself. This is really beautiful. The intensety of the clouds and the shapes of the them are awsome. I love the blue purple and white light in the clouds. Great composition with a touch of land at the bottom.

Niek

This looks exceptionally great Torbjorn. I wish Lived where you live. I just love Norway. The clouds are awesome and I like this picture even better than the other one. Well done & TFS!

Pieter

Hi Torbjörn.
Excellent clouds texture and exposure. And the composition is good. Photo looks just great. About frame: this white line from 3 sides is good, but from bottom it's like a knife into photo. I would recommend here dark grey instead of this. Usually such frames work well, but when in the bottom is shallow important part of composition it starts to compete with photo.
