This scenery is captured by the riverside one day in early November…

I have to add… daylight is brighter than it appears here, as the image is considerably underexposed… around –1.7 to –2.0 if I don't recall wrongly.

The image is captured just after the first snow, and if you look closely you can see there still are some leaves on the branches...

Hi Pablo,
A very evocative scene.
The light and framing incites to the contemplation of this serene landscape, with the reflections on the flowing water.
I like the vertical composition built here.
Congratulations and thanks for share it.
My best regards,
JM

bonjour pablo
ce petit rayon de soleil même s'il n'est pas ardent apporte un peu de chaleur a cette vue enneigée.
un peu trop sombre en haut de l'image peut etre.

Hi Pablo.
What an interesting and poetic picture. I like subject and light effects a lot. Snow reproduction, sharp shapes of the trees, amazing mirror reflections and vertical cropping are so wonderful and create carmine mood. My compliments and thanks for pleasant, skill shot.

Hi Pablo!

Congartulations for the good lighting! You're talking about one of the biggest problems when taking pictures like this one: the snow and the reflections on the water are so bright, that the darks get black. Or the darker parts are well exposed and the bright tones are burnt. I like the way you did it here.

Kind regards

Markus

Hello Pablo
This is a lovely scene and I really like your use of exposure compensation to even get the shot..I can see by the shutter speed that is was very bright...superb camera control.
Tfs and all the best

Hi Pablo,
Wonderful shot and the under exposure gives a fantastic effect and adds a fine perspective. I like the reflected sunlight on the rippled waters and the snow in the FG. Great view. Excellent POV to portray this scenery and very nicely composed. Kudos.

Hi Pablo, this must have been a difficult shot to expose, but you have managed it very well. Nice moody winter shot with the light on the water and good detail in the silouetted trees and foreground. Nice light on the snow also. Very nice composition and great work.

Hi Pablo, I'll resist my natural inclination to lighten up the scene.. This is good with the light reflecting off the water providing a great silhouette with those branches. Actually it looks like a late afternoon, early evening shot. I see from your photo data though that it was taken at about noon. If you didn't tell us it was underexposed, I would have thought it natural. The snow doesn't look grey here, just dark.

Thanks, John

Hello Pablo,
Nice presentation , good light and compo.
Thank for very much for '500' congrats yesterday.

Hi Pablo,
great mood and super framing here. The light is subtle yet eye catching and makes a great backdrop for those branches. The snow adds a nice soft contrast in the foreground and also helps lighten the top half in the background too.

Hello Pablo,
If we had snow it might have been a little lighter, but here it is dark and grey. So this glimmer of silver daylight through the branches is better than we have here, despite the underexposure and the composition is superb.
Thanks and best wishes,
Ivan

heavy mood shot here..hope you feel ok..:)
this is the hollywood movie technique for moonlit scenes...cut the exposure a bit
i see band of tone, each leading to each other and the lone canoeist adds a storyline which you have suggested in your title
good TL stuff as well

Hello Pablo !
You are so lucky to have snow ! I am wating for it so impatiently, but these last years I have always been waiting for nothing and I dare say it will be the same this year... Jut rain, grey clouds and dark days... But it makes your picture look even better for me, because it reminds me the winters of mychildhoos when there was still some snow... It brings back a lot of happy memories, and of course it is a wonderful picture, as usual from you. Very well done !
Valerie.

I like the mood here. You have UE on purpose and this works as it feels like that twilight that you get in Norway. On the rare occasion I have visited Norway I have loved that light

Hi Pablo,
oh what a pretty shot, I like it on the darkside , that winter, mostly not much sun, but the sun is sparkling though the branches regardless, very nice. ! TFS

Hello Pablo,
This reminds me of my youth when we sometimes used to go skiing in the moonlight! It's a bit confusing as you shot it at midday!! Very beautiful composition though.
Many thanks, Ulla

I recall your river series you presented last year, Pablo. Just can't stop admiring the artistic ambience you have created in these marvellous images.
The five layers of light and dark are well balanced here and that tree with some of its leaves still intact merges beautifully with those layers.
Thanks a lot for sharing another great shot from your series.
Ram

Pablo,
This image you have registered shows a fragment of a place in time.
Your country is LOADED with unique landscapes that you have been kind enough to share with us.
You still have some pristine wilderness left compared to other parts of Europe.
I hope & pray it continues so for decades to come.
Your pal in COLD COLD Canada, M.

Hi Pablo,
I like the lack of light in this photo a lot. It allows to concentrate on the real beauty of the photo....the golden reflection on the water and the contrast between the snow and tree silhoutte. A wonderful simple but strong photo.
TFS,
Niek

I love the sparkles in the water and the crisp looking snow!

Indeed little bit dark image but the reflection in water and the snow in foreground care for a nice and attractive picture.
Very well done.

Hi Pablo

I love the play with light in this picture. The layers and the reflections in the water are excellent and the vertical composition works really well.

Very nicely done and TFS

Hello Pablo,

I like this horizontal perspective of the river giving nice reflection on the surface. The foreground foliage makes a good peep of this November mood.

Well done and best regards,
