The most common pine in Norway is Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris).

In mountain areas the pine will survive under conditions where the fir and spruce must give way, and is the only large evergreen that can be found in landscapes like in this image.

Pine is commercially among the most noteworthy of species used for timber in temperate and tropical regions of the world, and Scots pine is the only pine that is native to northern Europe.

The pine is an important tree in forestry. The wood is used for pulp and sawn timber products, and in the pre-industrial age Scots Pine was used for making tar, the only mean for surface protection of wooden constructions like houses and boats back then.

It is also worth mentioning that pine makes an important part of the winter food for the moose!

Hi Pablo,
they are few and far between here in the south now, but still prevail in Scotland in quite large numbers...they are beautiful looking trees though, and you have shown them here in a very pleasing and simple composition. The pale blue makes a perfect backdrop, well done!

Pines are my favourite trees in winter, still green and not making these terrible dense forests like fir do.
I like this simple and effective composition with a lot of blue sky above the trees. Great color and detail!
Regards, Jon

Hi Pablo.
Once more landscape picture and interesting note. In our region only cultivated pines grow. Wonderful sunlight illumination of the scenery, superb rich colour palette and, as always, crisp sharpness of the entire image. Framing and composition. POV and DOF are perfect. Hello Pablo,
Beautiful image showing various individual Scots Pines, a species of tree that is most common in my area, though we generally see them growing more densely on our sandy soils. Superb gently sloping composition with a fine BG of moorland and blue sky in great lighting.
Thanks for sharing this attarctive shot,

Hello Pablo,

What a few pines makes the difference between a wood and a photo like yours. Splendid. Simplicity, clarity, a very good POV and BG. And a hill as BG and the blue sky. Thats all. Chapeau my friend a wonderful composition. Regards and TFS BOB

Hi Pablo,

I always loved those majestic trees. I have my preferred one which is in Mont-Tremblant National Park. He stands alone with its very particular shape, on the shore of a lake since many, many years. I'm always so happy to admire it :) I once saw a Bald Eagle taking off from it, this was magnificent!

This is a wonderful landscape with superb details, exposure and colors. Thanks!

Excellent sharp focus and details.
The colours are deep and well saturated.

merhaba pablo
wonderful photo of these beautiful pine trees under the impressive blue sky
i like composition, point of view, lighting, colours, contrast and sharpness
thanks for sharing

There's something exotic about this composition and I can't put my finger on it...might be the wonderful lighting...might the arrangement of trees...but I really like this. Maybe its because we do expect pines to be more crowded and see them scattered apart makes them look unusual.

Great blue sky. Good landscape shot again as usual from you.
Well done MF

Hi Pablo. Your signature blue skie show up well here and are the ideal backdrop for these tall pines. Your notes are good and the same applies to Australia and NZ where pinus radiata is an important construction timber. TFS. Murray.

I planted scotch pines in my first house on a giant hill in my backyard. they grew very fast, very hardy, and were very pretty.

Hello Pablo!
Beautiful blue sky accented by the far reaching pines! Love this landscape photo, TFS

Hello Pablo,

Lovely autumn picture with a few trees as subject, but very well background with the small hill.
I can enjoy of this picture.
Very well done.

Best regards,

Hi Pablo,
The same kind of pine I find a lot in our nature areas as well. The always have these wonderful tough shapes and seem to be able to survive it all.
This group seems to have survive many harsh winters and dry summers, and have grow to a good height.
The photo is ofcouse wonderful with great contrast between the dry countryside and the clear blue sky. Its a small pity that you missed one small dirt spot.

Hi Pablo

Another very beautiful and peaceful landscape shot from you, my friend!
These lovely pines are very nicely presented here and look great in front of that blue sky.
The composition here is also very well managed, with the proportions well set and balanced.
Superb natural colors, spot-on exposure and very good sharpness overall.

Bravo and TFS

Hi Pablo,

Beautifull vision of the pines in nature...
Lovely sky !!
All the best, dear friend.

Hello Pablo. You are one true master in capturing landscape. This is just stunning with common pines in pleasant canopy lining up in excellent view. Best regards. Jusni

Hi Pablo,
Great compo of the remaining Pinus sylvestris forest, nice colors and perfect sharpness. Here in Hungary all pine forests are planted, they aren't our native trees. But I like them very much. Sad to see the wonderful pine forest is almost totally cut off, but of course it isn't Your fault. You composed Your photo perfectly, as You used to, with wonderful sky. Tfs the great image and the informative note.
Best regards, László
