|The red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) is a species of tree squirrels (genus Sciurus). ... Norwegian Name : ekorn.|
One of a series of photo's taken at a local dam called 'Høveldam' at Sem in Asker - the lake (dam) is a small area full of matures wonders - special for this lake is and abundance of water fowl, dear, mink and squirels. This squirrel was very interested in me and kept peeping out from behind the tree to see if I was stil there, lovely creatures and often very inquisitive if not too scared - always try to keep my distance from them as much as possible - here taken at 500mm - The ISO was 800 - colour temp set at 5000K which I like for my nature (animal) photo's. Photo taken in RAW (NEF) format and then run thro Nikon NX2. For shots like this I like to limit the DOF to highlight the main focal point (face).

great shot, like the DOF and the details are impressive too. You realy caught the inquisitive nature of the Squirrel in this, a subject thats sadly getting rarer here in the UK. Well done and welcome to Trek Nature.
Nice and cute snapshot.
