[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the Map (Araschnia levana). I found this butterfly in a forrest track is the Biebrza region. This is the spring (first) generation. There has already been a lot of documentation about this species here on TN, so I decided to skip that part. The patterns on the underparts show very well the origin of it's name.

Hello Jacob!
As I see to had oportunity to meet many different species in Poland, from Amphibians to dragonflies and butterflies. And it is really nice to see them now at TN :>
Very nice title for this presentation. Wings of this species really look like a map, with some "roads", "fields", ect. ;>
I like a lot composition of this photo and BG.
TFS and hope to see some other "Polish" creaures soon.

Hello Jacob,
Very fine capture of the underside of the Map butterfly. I like its upright pose and details are very sharp and colours natural.
Very beautiful composition and a nice soft background colour.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hi Jacob,
Very good photo. No nitpicking opportunities:-)
Especially the sharp Map and its standard are well displayed through for example the overall sharpness. Beautiful DOF, generating this greenish blurred background.
Well done

Hi Jacob

Beautiful macro - the BG is great and really brings out the butterfly. The POV is also great.

James

Hi Jacob, wonderful butterfly with splendid details, great compositoion, very well done, ciao Silvio

bonjour jacob
c'est dommage que la fleur ne soit plus jaune, mais cela n'enleve rien a la beuté et la netteté du papillon.bon POV et DOF.
le BG est neutre et place bien le sujet en evidence.
