[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It was earlier this year, in May, that I discovered fire bellied toads in a sandpit in the Biebrza valley. I waited for several hours to capture a calling toad. In the meantime I had the chance to take a picture of this Dragonfly. The waterplants provided a funny background...

on hole the dragonfly!
great shot!

Hello Jacob,
This is a very design picture. I like those vertical grasses contrasting with the blue; it almost looks like a studio shot :) The Dragonfly is very well detailed and exposed. Thanks for this nice post.

Hello Jacob,
You caught this fresh Four-spotted Chaser with a fine sharpness throughout and beautifully composed against the gentle shades of blue and green produces by the reeds and water of its habitat. Excellent POV too.
Well done and TFS!
Have a nice weekend,

Hoi Jacob,
Mooie libel. Prachtig gedetaileerd, en ik vind de achtergrond heel mooi passend bij dit insect. Het zorgt voor een hele mooie vlakverdeling. Top compo!
Groet, Ruud

Hi Jacob

A splendid photo of this wonderful species that i only had the pleasure of photographing on the American continent...until now :)
The water plants and reeds provided a "funny" BG - understatement; it's a very beautiful and also natural BG...i love the way it looks and the way it complements the darker tones of the dragonfly.
The details on your subject are impeccably clear and very sharp and the DOF is wonderfully managed.
The only thing i'm not quite sure here is the compo - which is fact is a matter of personal taste. Maybe, again if it was me, i would have moved the subject a little bit to the left here...no big deal anyway.

Take care and TFS
