I spend one week in Spala Landscape Park (Central Poland). I came buck yesterday. After Antarctic and South American photos I decided to post something from Poland. It is my first photo of clearwing moth.

Sesiidae (clearwing moths) (in Polish przeziernikowate) are a family of the Lepidoptera in which the wings have hardly any of the normal lepidopteran scales, leaving them transparent. The bodies are generally striped with yellow, sometimes very brightly, and they have simple antennae. The general appearance is sufficiently similar to a wasp or hornet to make it likely that the moths gain a reduction in predation by Batesian mimicry.

Batesian mimicry (named after Henry Walter Bates), where the mimic resembles the successful model species but does not share the attribute that initially confers the selective advantage.

Hi Krzysztof,
Outstanding shot of this Clearwing. Nice colours and sharp details with a special antennae. Excellent POV and DOF. The BG is superb and presents a nice contrast to make the subject stand out. Very nicely diagonally composed. Kudos.

Hello Krzysztof,
This clearwing moth is at its best from this pov. The whole moth is well in focus. Lovely color tone. The background is perfectly blurred and give 3D effect. TFS this beautiful image.

A shapely and attractive moth with a variety of colours and fine patterns on the entire body, Krzysztof. Your perspective captures all these features very sharply and clearly.
The shot is aesthetically composed, the focus is spot on, DOF is quite impressive and your note gives very useful information about the insect.
Well done and thanks.

Hello Krzysztof,
Excellent capture of C. empiformis, a species that I have not seen as it does not occur in Sweden.

Hello Krzysztof,
just the right point of view to get the entire moth in optimal focus. Sharpness is excellent even for the antennae. Colour patterns of the wings and of the body are well presented. Thank you for posting apicture of a clearwing moth.
Best wishes, Peter

Hi Krzysztof.
Brilliant reproduction and presentation of this wonderful insect. I am impressed with the razor sharpness, terrific details and amazing colours of it. BG is great too in its colour palette and smoothness. Bravo and my best wishes.
Alexei.

Hi Krzysztof,
a nice close-up of a beetle I never seen before.
It's beautiful both in colours and pattern. Well composed and good POV.
Very nice DOF too.
Well done.

Hejka!
Widze, ze szczesliwie dotarles do domu ze Spaly. Fajnie, ze tak szybko udalo sie oznaczyc tego motylka, choc az mnie korci, zeby zapytac czemu nie opisales historyjki z mrowkami :P
Co do samej fotki to troche wieksza glebia ostrosci by sie przydala i moze lekkie odszumienie tla. Ale generalnie brawo za 1 przeziernika!!! :)
Pozdrawiam,
Radek

ps. czy to rzadki motyl???

Witaj Krzysztof!
Twoja cma jest niezwykle ladna. Charakteryzuje sie ciekawym wzorkiem na grzbiecie. Troszke przeszkadza pionowa trawa z lewej, ale motyle siadaja tam, gdzie chca i cmy tak samo :).
Gratuluje i pozdrawiam - Roma

Hello Krysztof,

Hi again
Another great picture! It's very hard to find the Sesidae but even harder is make a good picture of them ;-D
TFS

Chris

Elegante toma de gran dificultad por el tamaño del insecto y su posición sobre la planta aunque resuelta con buena técnica. Suaves y bonitos colores con un correcto fondo.
Saludos Krzysztof .

Hey Chris,
A very nicely composed image & pretty sharp one.
