[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
First I thought it is Thelephora terrestris, but I am not sure now. Later my type was Phellodon confluens, but now I really don't know. The last idea is that mysterious (for me)gungus is kind of Fomes fomentarius, but... Maybe somobody knows what I have taken? I really tried to recognize IT, by with rather poor results.

I think I have an answer for you Phaeoleus schweinitzii (Dyers Mazegill) have a look at this one it is the closest to the one in my books check this one and see what you think

Very interesting fungus. Nice colors and good sharpnes, fine area with straws. It is a pity we really don't know the name of the object...

It has very nice colour. Almost looks as though you could have got a little closer, perhaps a view slightly side on. Was it raised in tiers? It almost looks flat...but not quite.

I have no idea what it is, all I can say is that this fungus is a very unusual. Well captured and I like how it has straw surrounding it. Well done, Janice

This is a beautiful capture Robert. I like the contrasting colors and the composition a lot.

Very well done and thanks for posting.

I agree with Robbrown,
this is Phaeolus schweinitzii (Fries 1821) Patouillard 1900, a very common specie. It has got 34 synonimy.
