syn. Gagea villosa (M.Bieb.) Duby

Endangered in Poland

Gagea is a large genus of spring flowers in the Liliaceae found in Europe and western Asia. It is named after the English naturalist Sir Thomas Gage. They were originally described as species of Ornithogalum, which, together with the usual yellow colour of the flowers, explains the English name Yellow Star-of-Bethlehem for the most common species in Europe, Gagea lutea, which grows in damp deciduous woodland.
Presented flower: 2,0 - 2,5 cm wide, 5 - 7 cm high.

hi Mark, very nice flower with good coloures and composition.

Hallo Mark
I have not been active lately and missed some lovely photographs from members. I'll have to go back on the gallery some time and observe all the ones I have overlooked. You have captured this yellow flower with great sharpness and focus. Yellow is always a very sunny and bright colour and this flower is no exception, and portrays warmth and glamour. A lovely and delightful Spring portrait. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
Loot and I will not be around on the site for a few days as we are going to a game lodge for our 27th wedding anniversary early Friday morning.

Hello Mark,

I'm afraid I cannot help you with the identification but I can say that this is a very good, sharp capture. Excellent details.

I like the way it has its petals splayed and how well it shows against the blurred b/g.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Mark,
Greetings and thanks for sharing your thought in my recent post of the moth.
this flower of your is great in its colour and clarity.
The small bristles could be seen. The slanting composition is brilliant too. It gives the impact to photo.
