Melitaea britomartis Assmann, 1847

Wingspan: 29-38 mm

Melitaea britomartis is a butterfly in the family Nymphalidae. It has a wide geographic range and is represented by three subspecies.

Habitat: Dry grassy glades, meadows and low mountain slopes, most often on calcareous substrate.

Bionomics: One, possibly two generations from May till August. Larval host-plants: Plantago lanceolata and Veronica (Tolman & Lewington 1997).
