[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Back to astronomy today. Sunsets and sunrises are the only way to photograph Sun without special filters. I chose few from my large archive of Sun's pictures and bring them together. All were taken with longest available zoom. I think that all TNers agree with me - there is something magical when you look at Sun descending below horizon.

If you want see really great images of our nearest star check this website - http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/data/realtime-images.html

This is hompage of SOHO (Solar & Heliospheric Observatory). SOHO was launched on December 2, 1995. The SOHO spacecraft was built in Europe by an industry team led by Matra, and instruments were provided by European and American scientists. There are nine European Principal Investigators (PI's) and three American ones. Large engineering teams and more than 200 co-investigators from many institutions supported the PI's in the development of the instruments and in the preparation of their operations and data analysis. NASA was responsible for the launch and is now responsible for mission operations. Large radio dishes around the world which form NASA's Deep Space Network are used to track the spacecraft beyond the Earth's orbit. Mission control is based at Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland.

ps. 6000 Kelvin degrees is temperature of visible layers of Sun.

I love Paulo's words: Excelentes quadros. Belas fotos. I can translate them and yes I agree with him too.
What I notice here is the same colours - were they all taken on the same night, or did you want to show the same tones? It's very good Greg, TFS.
Have a good weekend... 9.19am +21C, sunny day.

Excellent series Greg. All photos are very beautiful, but I like the bottom right the best. Wonderful, warm colors. Well done & TFS!

Have a great weekend my friend!

Regards,
Pieter

It is really amazing, that all life exists on our planet because of this orb at the center of our solar system, and you have captured it so beautifully.

Each composition is lovely, and a bit ominous in color.

A great job Grzegorz, thank you!

Great views. The rather dark looking and the clouds layer gives a surrealistic touch to this photo. Is like from a SF movie.

Regards, Petru

Hi Greg, you have made a great collage with great pictures. It´s a very nice composition. I like it. Thank you.

A super collection of sunsets. You're right, it is magical. I never get tired of seeing them on TN.
