Unfortunately, this picture of Yellow Brimstone was taken one year ago. Still no signs of Spring around. Piles of dirty snow still lays on lawns, ground is frozen and temperature very low. Flowers? You must be joking. I found this picture deep in my archives, I remember day it was taken. World was awaking afte long winter and first flowers and insects emerges. I saw one and only butterfly. With dry and brown leaves it made good winter/spring composition.

I was going to write something about this butterfly, but I found this:

"Yellow Brimstone Butterfly Essence
Silvercord Essences

10ml £4.40

To stimulate the mind to bring new ideas and awareness for those who are studying. Helps with depression. Resonate with the Star Sign Gemini."

Are you interested ;-))) ?

Hello Greg!
Wonderful close up.Colors,sharpness,details are perfect.
Did you get the adress,i think it's not expensive;)
Thanks for posting.

Nice work Grzegroz, I appreciated the a green leaf appearance of the wings of the butterfly as contrasted with the dry leaf on the ground, Exposure and Focus are good. I only which the butterfly face could be seen better

Hi Greg,
What a great contrast between the dead brown/grey leaf, and the green butterfly. A perfect match in texture and pattern, but completely diffrent in color here. He is not blending into his surroundings like that. Great detail!
Scott

What a good combination between the butterfly and the leaf. With good detail and colour...
Well done...

perfect colour contrast, Background is little bit grainy, and I would meaby choose different then center oriented compo, but...that's me.. :o)
Well done anyway.
REgards, RAdim.

Hi Grzegorz,
pretty, well taken shot with sharp details and beautifully soft, shaded colours, very well representing the species and the early time of the year.
Soon its next generation will be in the air again after a long hibernation, enjoying us with their bright yellow appearance. Yes, seeing one of them is a good remedy against depression - before that, a picture like yours is of help.
Thank you, and best regards.
Peter

Hi Greg,
It looks like you sneaked up on him :-) A good shot with nice detail, I'm amazed at how much his wings look like leaves, even down to the brown spots. Great camouflage, although looking at the colour of leaves on the ground he's a bit early. I'm a Gemini, I don't feel any resonance though :-)
Regards,
Adrian

Pretty flutterby Greg! I love his colours, especially against the brown leaves.
Just be patient - spring is coming! One day...

Thanks for posting, have a great week.

I've just been watching the footie (liverpool-Birmingham in the FA Cup. Liverpool won 7-0, what a one sided game.

Bonjour Greg

Hello Greg,
Lovely picture, the colours of butterfly create a great contast with brown leaves. Well done on framing too. The POV is quite interesting but the DOF could've been a little bigger. Very interesting note too ;)
WELL DONE!

Hi Greg, we have the first signs of spring...but it is still quite cold for the season. I saw some zebra spiders and a couple of Eristalis hoverflies the other day.

Nice shot, a little dark for my taste. Good compostion. Well done.

I think I can live without butterfly juice.

Hi Greg,
Very nice color and sharp details. Great contrast and framing..Unfortunately, I would prefer to see more of the head, but this is my subjective opinion of course.
Well done mf.
