Antheraea yamamai - family Saturnidae.

This is not really European specie but on the south of Europe you can find some butterflies. In southern Europe caterpilars eat Oak leaves. They're very large - the length is more than 10 cm!
The picture is taken in Poland where the caterpilars were breeded.

Très belle image à tendance monochrome. L'image est très sharp et l'expsition bien réussie. J'aime bien l'effet lumineux que dégage la chenille. Bravo pour cette belle photo.

I have found one of these caterpillars, in the north of France, but it is strange because in your note you write that they only live in south of Europe... Anyway, you have an excellent picture here, with shapr details, beautiful composition and POV, and beautiful colors. I like the pose of the caterpillar, with the head down. very well done !
